Florence, since 1902
For over 120 years, Picchiani & Barlacchi has forged the symbols of Italian institutions in metal.
Founded in Florence in 1902 from the workshop of engraver Gastone Picchiani, the company has developed over time a unique artisanal expertise in the minting and stamping of precious and non-precious metals - gold, silver, bronze, brass, and zamak - becoming one of Italy’s leading references for the production of institutional items, medals, badges, and ceremonial objects.
Throughout the 20th century, Picchiani & Barlacchi established collaborations with the main Italian Armed Forces and State Corps, consolidating its role as a trusted supplier to the military and law enforcement sectors.
This tradition continues today through official collections dedicated to the Italian Republic, the Italian Navy, the Carabinieri Corps, the Italian State Police, and the Civil Protection Department, always within the framework of official licensing agreements.
Every piece begins with the mastery of designers, engravers, and technicians, handed down from generation to generation within the company.
Whether it is a collector’s medal or a ceremonial object, each piece carries the same artisanal care that has distinguished Picchiani & Barlacchi since its origins.
Today, the company is in its fifth family generation, with over 120 years of tradition.
